An outpatient addiction treatment program in Hopkins, Minnesota, built by people who know how long the wait for treatment can be, and decided it should be shorter.

Northwoods Haven Recovery is a person-centered outpatient program serving Minneapolis and the greater Twin Cities. We treat substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions for adults, and we exist because nobody who asks for help should have to wait for it. When you call, we answer. Who we are

Who we are: a person-centered outpatient recovery center in Hopkins, Minnesota

Northwoods Haven Recovery treats substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions on an outpatient basis, for adults across Minneapolis and the Twin Cities. We do one thing, and we do all of it: an intensive outpatient program, low-intensity outpatient care as the step-down, chemical use assessments, and addiction counseling, delivered in a space that feels like a safe haven rather than an institution. We do not run a detox or a residential program, and we will tell you when someone else is the better fit.

We rise together. Clients define their recovery lifestyle, and we support them in it.

Most programs have one defined way of working a recovery lifestyle. We are inclusive of every belief system and every recovery approach, so we teach you all of your options and build the plan with you, not for you. Our clients aren’t just clients. We call them by their names, and we treat them as more than their diagnosis.

Why we exist

Why Northwoods Haven Recovery exists: the eleven-day wait

It once took eleven days to get one person into treatment. He had just come through detox and was discharged the same night. He only made it into a program because someone put him up in a hotel while the calls were being made. He could not have done it on his own back home.

That wait is the reason Northwoods Haven Recovery exists: to make treatment accessible quickly to the people who need it. It is also why programming starts immediately after intake, why we review an assessment you already have instead of repeating it, and why someone answers the phone when you call.

Our mission

To make treatment quickly accessible to the people who need it, through compassionate, evidence-based care that honors identity, dignity, and autonomy while fostering a supportive community.

Our values: the three the whole team chose

Integrity

We tell you the truth about whether we can help, even when the answer costs us a client.

Community

Group-based care with real accountability, in rooms built to feel calm rather than clinical.

Connection

You are more than your diagnosis here, and every caller leaves with resources.
